The blond star - who also has a 24-year-old son, Alexander, and 19-year-old daughter, Dakota, from previous relationships - said: "Overcoming addictions is tough but it can be made easier if you have someone that can offer support. My husband and family supported me so much through this journey and continue to do so."

A source is quoted by gossip blogger Perez Hilton as saying: "The reason Melanie checked in was her husband was demanding that she get clean and sober. He told her that if she didn't get the help she needed it would be the end of their marriage."
