The audience was buzzing at the Richie Rich fashion show at the Fontainebleau's Sinatra Bar on Friday afternoon.
Pamela Anderson, in town for ROCK Fashion Week, was due to attend. And lately you never know what you're gonna get with the former Baywatch babe.
Over the past few months, some of her notorious sartorial antics have included attending an Art Basel event in boy shorts; prancing about at New York's Fashion Week in a thong bathing suit; and wearing a nipple-baring dress at a stodgy, animal-rights gala in Fort Lauderdale.
At least someone important thinks she knows what she's doing: Former Heatherette designer Rich chose Pammie as his collaborator for Muse, an eco-friendly line of leather-free shoes and casual ''green'' clothes.
Strutting the catwalk in support was Miami's favorite drag queen, Elaine Lancaster, who also played hostess.
The Muse designs were, for the most part, hip, fun, and young. Think flouncy skirts, low-rise jeans, and patterned hoodies. But some getups definitely crossed over to the Pammie side. One dress was so short the model actually had to modestly tug the hem down to cover her cheeks.
At the end of the show, Anderson, 41, bounced out with Rich in a relatively staid for her tie-dyed mini dress and newly shorn bangs.
The way the giggly vegetarian was swaying and falling all over Rich reminded us of another voluptuous blonde: Marilyn Monroe.
We're not alone in our assessment.
''She reminds me of her and Bridget Bardot,'' Rich has said of his longtime pal. ``Even though Pam prefers not to wear clothes, she looks great in sexy dresses.''
MIAMI GETS RANKED
What's the best city in the world for guys? Chicago.
That's if you believe whose editors came up with a list of 29 places where men -- gay or straight -- would most like to live. There were eight evaluation categories: livability, sports and entertainment, culture, fashion, sex and dating, health, power and money, and the overall good life.
Ratings took into account the rate of unemployment, income growth, ratios of single women to men, the cost of a pint of beer and the rate of male heart disease, among other things.
OK, so where did Miami rank? No. 16. Not great -- but at least we made the list.
''It's the perennial favorite for readers, ``There's the great weather, the sexy women and the party scene.''
And the fact that the bad economy has made it more affordable ''propelled it'' on the website's first list of this kind, he said.
As for Chicago's primo status? It's got the pride factor, said Bassil. President Barack Obama used to call it home.
